In the Shamli district's Kairana area, authorities have recovered the bodies of a man and his daughter from the Yamuna River, while efforts continue to locate his three other children. This information was shared by police on Sunday.
According to police reports, the bodies of Salman, aged 38, and his 12-year-old daughter Mehak were discovered during a search operation in the river. The police are utilizing divers to assist in the search for Salman's remaining three children. It has been revealed that Salman jumped into the river with his four children on Saturday after his wife allegedly eloped with her lover.
Shyam Singh, the Circle Officer, informed reporters that the bodies of Salman and Mehak were found approximately 12 kilometers from the search site. He confirmed that the search for the other three children is ongoing.
Both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Prior to this, Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh mentioned that Salman recorded a video before jumping into the river, which he sent to his sister. In the video, he claimed that his wife, Khushnuma, and her lover were responsible for his drastic decision.
